How does it feel to be someone who sucks at being creative? What if there was a magic potion that can trigger your brain into creative mode? Are we born creative or is creativity an acquired skill? Only a creativity-less brain, like mine, has such injudicious questions piled up the brain’s attic. But this was before I stumbled across this life changing quote by Joad. This dude, has given away the secret to creativity. According to him, “Creativity is knowing how to hide your sources”. Now that I think about it, it really is all about sources. Disguised as “inspiration”, we often tend to use other sources to channel our creativity. If you can hide them well, under the label of “inspiration”, you are good to go. For a creative logo design, many companies use inspiration to craft an eye catchy logo. But where does this inspiration come from? At times it comes from their leading competitors, or other times, it just looks very convenient to be used. Coming with a creative logo design isn’t an easy task, however, plagiarizing someone else’s work isn’t easy too. Either ways, you have to use your brain, so why not use it to channel something new and exciting? Like said earlier, you can scroll through different designs and take inspiration from them, but to copy and paste someone else’s work must never be your gig.
No matter how less creative you are, you can always take help of professionals to help you create a creative logo design for your new startup. To use someone else’s idea takes away from the whole purpose of logo- Uniqueness. So next time you try to attempt for cheaper options, think about how well you are at hiding your sources?

When we talk about affordable logo designs we should never forget to mention Twitter. Twitter launched in 2006 as an online news and social networking service where people post “tweets”. These tweets are a 140 character short post or message. Today Twitter has over 500 million users worldwide and more than twenty five offices around the world. Who knew that Twitter’s logo cost was only $15? We thought Nike’s $35 logo was the most affordable logo design. According to the New York Times, the bird image was designed by a British graphic designer who lived in Japan, Simon Oxley. Simon had designed the bird icon and submitted it to iStock. He probably made $6 after all the deductions. Twitter later bought rights to the famous bird image. In 2012 Twitter’s affordable logo design had to be changed as it is against policy for companies to use iStock images in their logos. The new identity design was just a revamped version of the older one. The new bird image was slightly darker and less feathery, if you look at both the images side by side the new bird looks like a grown up version of the older bird. Did you know Twitter’s blue bird is named Larry? It is named Larry in honor of Indiana Pacers General Manager and Celtics Legend, Larry Bird. NBA said, “Once every generation or so, a player comes along who can truly be called a superstar. Larry Bird was such a player. For 13 seasons with the Boston Celtics, from 1979-80 through 1991-92, Bird personified hustle, consistency and excellence in all areas of play--as a scorer, a passer, a rebounder, a defender, a team player and perhaps above all, as a clutch performer. He was such a deadly shooter that he sometimes practiced three-pointers with his eyes closed”
The general assumption among individuals and business owners is that getting a business logo design will cost a fortune. However, this is just a myth. Till about a decade or two ago, logo designing was priced minimally within the range of $20-$50. The world’s most famous logo ‘Nike’s Swoosh’ cost the company only $35. But, today, such pricing brackets aren’t existent. There are multiple reasons for the price hike including general inflation and increased demand for the service since businesses have multiplied in a large numbers along with the concept of startups globally. There are businesses originating from every corner, be it a home based cooking business or a fully established high profile restaurant in Downtown, Manhattan. Since a business logo design is the basic need of every organization, owners have to pay a certain price to earn the rights to the particular logo designed as per their requirements. Moreover, design agencies nowadays invest hundreds and thousands of dollars into setting up their organizations, building strong goodwill and earning esteemed recognition in the industry. By combing all these factors together, the customer ends up paying large sums of money for their logos ranging between $500-$2000. With humans receiving the gift of ‘internet’, it has now become possible to receive expensive services such as logo designing at much lower rates. On the internet, you will find individuals who are willing to work for you and fulfill your needs. These individuals also known as ‘freelancers’ will provide similar services at much lower rates which will hardly damage your pockets.
